| My new computer has been struggling with xanga and I can't take it much longer. A post takes me way too long to do and so I haven't been staying current. For some reason loading pictures is torture and even while making an entry, I have trouble. So to prevent myself from giving up on blogging (which I don't want to do since this is the closest thing I have to a journal right now), I have decided to try the blogger way. I set up a page and it is incredibly simple and my computer zips right along on the site. Pictures upload in a flash and my frustration level was low.
Hopefully everyone will still visit me on my new site as I LOVE all the nice comments I get ! I will still be keeping tabs on everyone here!
The new address:

Hope to hear from you all soon!

| Well, we are finally up and running with the internet at home. What a ridiculous process that was. Oh well, I've got it and now I'm back in blogging action. A lot of stuff has been going on in our little world so bear with me, this is going to be a long one !
We are finally, and happily, in our house! Yahoooo! We are loving the space, especially the back yard. It's definitely nice to have a driveway to pull up into as well. I never posted pictures of the house, in fear of a repeat of the last house I posted, so here they are, this is the day after we got the keys.

This one cracks me up, Koty was running in excitement and totally ate it as I took the picture.
The house is in great/clean condition and Richard is bringing the yard back to life. We have found that the previous owners really liked to make home "improvements" themselves. That would be find and dandy, if they hadn't eyeballed and taken the short cut on just about everything. Nothing is that big of a deal though, it's just kind of funny to see what other the people thought looked good. I am loving the freedom that the kids have in the yard. Dakota and Taylor are spending lots of time out there and burning off lots of energy. I caught Koty the other day roaming in her favorite outfit (a diaper) and pulling a duck around the yard. She was so happy.
Here she is with the friendly neighborhood cat Delilah, Koty's new companion.
Cooper loves to help Dad with manly projects. He's especially fond of the power drill.
He also loves to open cabinets and and he crawled into one the first morning we were here.
Dakota found Papi's hat while we were moving out (she sure is cute!)
The kids are also sleeping better
Boxes are also fun
After we got the keys and before we moved in, we went camping at Rancho Oso with Richard's family. Dakota was a bit too intense this year and that made things very hard. Her little world had been and was so uprooted that she was a total spaz. Adding camping to the mix didn't help her. Taylor had an absolute blast. She was running with the cousins the whole time and riding her bike.
Cooper liked crawling around in the dirt.
Dakota was crazy as a loon, but cute as a bug.
After hours and hours of running herself ragged (and the rest of us), we got her to sit for a minute and watch some cartoons in the trailer. We checked in a minute later and she had fallen over.
Richard captured his mama relaxing under an umbrella.
Cooper and Papi Gene
Dakota's major obsession was all the dogs that various family members brought with them. The girl LOVES animals. Her favorite was Weasel the chihuahua. She still talks about her.
We ended up leaving a day early. Between my mono, Dakota, and the stress of the looming move, Richard and I were done. On the way home, we stopped to say hello to my parents while they camped in Carpinteria with their ward. We played at the beach for a bit. Cooper had enough and crashed hard. He is an adorable little man.
We were glad to get home and I packed most of the next day. Gene came up after that and he and Richard busted their humps and moved the whole apartment on their own. We can't thank Gene enough, we couldn't have done it without him! Millie, my mom, and my grandma also came up and helped entertain kiddos and provide nourishment. Thank you everyone!!!
Oh yes, during the move, Taylor had her Kindergarten Spring Fling. They performed songs for us, we watched a video montage of the year, and shared in some treats. I have to say I got a little emotional watching my baby girl up there singing her heart out. She is a darling, wonderful little girl and I am so blessed to call her mine. She did great in Kindergarten, we couldn't be more proud of her!
Well I hope I kept your attention. We are still trying to move in and get organized. I love our home and I am so happy to be done with the whole house buying process! We are super busy, but in a good way.

| I just wanted to write a quick update on the goings on around here.
On the house front- We received word that the loan has officially been approved and we were supposed to sign the final loan docs today, but that didn't happen. Hopefully tomorrow they will be ready for us. Escrow closes on the 15th, so we are planning on moving this weekend. Now I have to pack like a mad woman!
On the health front- I have been cursed medically for the last few years and it just keeps getting better and better. For the last few months, I have felt EXTREMELY fatigued, weak, plus various other symptoms. Everyone I talked to chalked it up to being a new mom. I knew this was not the case because Cooper was never really difficult during the night when he was new and he started sleeping through the night by 3 months of age. My kids go to bed at 7pm and awake between 6 and 7am every morning. All 3 of them. There was/is no excuse for such fatigue as I get plenty of rest at night. I also had/have been experiencing weakness and numbness in my hands. My physician is a ding dong so I didn't want to see her since she just blew me off. We are in the process of changing physicians, but that won't be effective until June 1. Well, I was writing a packing list the other day to prepare for a little trip to my parents when my hand stopped working. It was so weak that I could hardly hold my pen and it had a little twitch so I could not write properly at all. That kind of freaked me out and I was worried that perhaps I might have a stroke or something.
I went to Urgent Care (the doctors there are awesome) and got the doctor that I love. (I might mention that I have been there several times for infections of the toe and sinus, allergic reaction to antibiotics, etc). I went through all my troubles with the doctor and he said that he thinks my hand situation is not neurological but most likely a pinched nerve or carpal tunnel. He decided to run extensive blood test to figure out my fatigue and other symptoms. The results came back with all the usual suspects appearing normal. Then the doctor turned the page and said he was concerned with my number on one test. I don't remember what it is called but it usually indicates a virus, fungus infection, or parasite. The normal number is 0-4. Mine was a 10.something. Not good. So they did even more blood work and it turns out I have Mono for sure and they are waiting back on test results to see if I also have Valley Fever (an fungal infection in the lungs cause by spores in the soil of desert areas). The Valley Fever should be what is causing the high number. If I don't have Valley Fever, more tests will have to be done to figure out why that is so high. But the Mono is for sure and I have no idea where I picked that up! Fortunately, I now know that I am not crazy and there is really something wrong with me. The lame part is that there is nothing that can be done for me medically to cure me except tons of rest (hahah, have you met my children?). Plus, we are moving this weekend...highly strenuous.
Gene and Millie are here today and tomorrow to help me pack and watch the monkeys. Fortunately, we have our apartment through the 30th, so if we don't get it done all at once, we have time to move everything in stages.
On the church front- I got a new calling as the Mia Maid advisor and I am very excited about that. Our ward has been much better and our new bishopric is fabulous. That makes me happy :)
On the kid front- My kids are doing great. Taylor is excited for the move and already has our new address memorized. Dakota is calming down, but still keeps me on my toes on a daily basis, and Cooper is getting too big too fast. They are the most adorable, sweet kids and I couldn't imagine life without them!
I am exhausted and need to go to bed while I can. I will have to post more of the happenings later. Hopefully the move goes as smoothly as possible and the next time I post, I hope to be doing it from my new house :)
Good Night!!!

| Well, we had a major snag in escrow. The house was appraised 9k less than our offer. Therefore, we could not get a loan for the full amount that we offered. So, Scott (our realtor) sent an addendum to the bank stating that due to the appraisal amount, we would have to change our offer to match that. We were concerned that they would not accept this because we were still asking for our closing costs to be fully covered as was agreed upon before. About a week has gone by with no response from the bank...even the selling realtor had heard nothing. Yesterday, our lender called us to let us know that all our financing had gone through and that the interest rate had gone down from when we had originally locked it in. With our calpers loan, we get 2 free float downs and we were VERY excited about that news. The problem was that we didn't know if we had a house to go with it! Scott called us today to let us know that we had a verbal agreement from the bank that they would go along with the new lower price and still cover our closing costs. So because of this little glitch, we will be saving lots of money. We are feeling very grateful! | | |
